The evangelism team of Mike, Cindy, Maureen, Toby and David hit the streets in Lockport for the Mardi Gras parade in this small city. This was the first time in this environment for Cindy, and she heard how the rest of us share the gospel with the people lining the streets.
Mardi Gras is a great place to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The streets are lined with lost people who have nothing better to do than to wait for us to come along and share Jesus Christ with them. What are they going to do? Run away and lose their spot?
This was just one of about 18 parades that we went to for this purpose.
Thousands of tracts were passed out. Many group and one-on-one gospel centered conversations were made, and people cannot now claim ignorance. Those that we met heard the gospel preached to them.
In Thibodaux, LA., Joe and David hit the streets prior to the start of Mardi Gras. For two hours prior, we engaged in one conversation after another. When the noise from the parade reached our ears, it was time to leave.
We attended many other parades in Larose, Lockport, Houma, Galliano, Golden Meadow and Thibodaux. The day parades are preferable to the night ones. Less alcohol involved, but not much.
